Barack Obama IS Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Thanks to Scott over at That’s What He Said, we finally have a column that explains what’s been bothering members of the Hernia staff over the past few weeks every time a Barack Obama commercial has aired.

We can’t tell you how many different times when we could only hear the audio of an Obama spot that we had to run to the TV out of sheer disbelief, wondering who the hell this captivating voice could be — after all, the Rock had moved on to win Oscars in Hollywood.

Well after humbly finding out it was not a commerical announcing The Rock’s triumphant return to the WWF in WrestleMania XXXXIV, we did find it inspiring to know that a guy who could potentially be our next president used the persona of a retired professional wrestler to capture the hearts of the American people.

Take a listen to the videos below but check out what Scott had to say, we’d rather let him explain the rest, he summed up our thoughts quite well.

Don’t you ever, and BaROCK means EVER, talk to BaROCK like that or I’ll stick my boot so far up your ass you’ll be in the Hogan nursing home.

So know your role, sit your candy ass down and shut your mouth.

I think BaRock is concealing his muscles, like his religion in case he gets elected.
    Peace…Iron Mike

I can definitely hear the similarity between the Rock and Obama –their inflections match– but you should also catch a viewing of the 1979 film The Warriors: its character Cyrus was responsible for the popularization of the “can you dig it?” line and functioned as a similarly uniting figure for the film.

The Rock sounds great, and he is an excellent actor. Obama is very charismatic, but I think he can sound a little less WWF. So who does Hillary sound like.. a loser

Eight years later (after Isaac “Chef” Hayes and Shaft) is considered popularizing something? Okay. Hell, even Isaac/Shaft was saying something everybody knew. The popularity of “Can you dig it?” dates to the ’60s if not ’50s, tosser.

Clinton is toast & she’s knows it. That’s why she’s hitting below the belt. America is ready for president who stands for something, regardless of color. McCain’s candy ass is toast.
