Cousin Eddie’s shoes spotted in Phillies dugout

Charlie_Manuel_Cousin_Eddie_phixr

It's a bit puzzling at first, but not if you think about it.  You see kids, Charlie Manuel is from West Virginia.  There's a very good chance that Cousin Eddie, following his Christmas vacation at Clark's house, ditched the farm in Kansas and drove his motor home directly to Northfork, where he met Charlie.  It's all making sense now.  We're guessing in exchange for the shoes, Eddie received one of Sal Fasano's ass-melting leisure suits.

Update: Those are actually the shoes of broadcasting legend Harry Kalas.  The Phillies keep them in the dugout, along with a blue blazer, in his memory for each game.  We had no idea, although probably should have.  With that said, we love Kalas even more now knowing those were his shoes.

Damn. Glad I didn’t type that “ah, ah, ah, ah staying alive, staying alive” joke I had in mind. It just didn’t work since Phillies lead the whole game.

    Nice gesture by Manuel.

I’m not sure anyone was making fun of Manuel, those shoes are a victory, as is Sal Fasano.

No, Phillies fan bro. I don’t care that this blog post was updated to reflect that the shoes are Harry’s, I still think the post is bullshit. Don’t write a sports blog if you don’t know shit about shit.

Still a terrible job. And i got the vacation joke as well, just a poor attempt at being funny at the expense of a nice gesture by the Fightin’s to remember HK.

Yes, I know you’re a Phillies fan, bro.

And I agree with you, we will be closing the site for good in roughly 6 minutes.

You messed up bad, Sports Hernia!

It’s really cool that the Phillies do this, especially since Victorino & Co. led the charge on it.

Although I hate to say it, but this homage is kind of bizarre/creepy. Couldn’t they carry around a mic or something else he didn’t actually wear?
